Amber stared out of the bush at the nearby tree. She had heard some tales about this mountain pass actually moving. She came to see if it was true. After staring at her partner bush for over an hour she was beginning to grow restless. The orange and black bird tilted forward on her branch with her tail up in the air as some leaves ruffled. Her hazel eyes searching for the source of the noise.

"Uuuurg!" Oliver grunted as he squeezed out of a bramble bush. "This place is trying to kill me!" He chirped in exasperation. He fluttered into the air and perched precariously on a twig, his light figure barely bending the greenwood. He gulped as he looked over the pass, ricks rumbled, and must boiled and curled over the ground restlessly. He was about to turn around and wing his way back to the forests he called home. But a rustling stopped him, his wings spread out like a yellow sun. A perfect target for any predator.

Amber charged at the nearest rustle fanning her wings to create large amounts of noise. She came upon a brightly colored bird looking like he'd been chased by a bear. "Oh..." She murmured. "Are you alright." Amber perched across from him staring him over, ignoring the rumble she felt in the ground.

He puffed himself up and clipped his wings down as he saw the orange and black bird. He looked at her warily. She was somewhat bigger than him, but he didn't mind that. "I'm fine." He ruffled his feathers and clacked his beak.

"I'd hope so. You'd scare everyone from here to the reef with your racket." Amber twisted around to see how she could get back out of the thicket. "Wait!" She chirped in surprise. The way she had come through was no longer there. The brush had shifted and rearranged itself. "That wasn't like that before." The thief backed up on her branch cautiously. It was rule number one to always have a way out. The orange and black bird chirped nervously. Stepping up and down on her perch. "Something isn't right." She turned to the other bird. "Which way did you come from?"

The bright finch hopped from one foot to another. His small legs stiff. He clacked his beak together nervously. Oliver shivered at the sight if the moving bush. "What is it?" He chirped. The sky was a bright blue, light grey clouds shifted with a wispy grace.

Amber jumped back as a limb nearly collided with her. "The forest is moving!" She cried. "Fly!" She didn't wait for the other bird to answer she just shoved him hard and took off. Her wings beating fast and strong as the forest began to close up behind them.

"Ack!" Oliver flapped into the air, his delicate wings beating hard. He flipped over and sped upwards, as a vine snapped out to whip at his tail.

"Faster!" Amber cried. She wasn't entirely bent on keeping up with this slow flyer but she wasn't about to let anyone get stuck in any form of danger. A few vines snapped at them. One popped out and snapped on her wing knocking her off balance. Amber squeaked in surprise and wobbled violently. Leveling out she spotted the trees ahead closing up. A small hole was still open and the sky shone on the other side. "There!" She said. Amber tucked her wings in close as she darted through the slimming hole.

The finch dove, he wasn't fast, but he was agile. He flipped and shifted his wings to accommodate his area. "Ahh! Gak!" Oliver shot through the hole, thorns scraping his wings. Finally he was out. A vine curled out, missing his foot by a millimeter.

Amber spiraled to the ground and looked up for the other bird. He flashed out of the forest as a streak of gold. Amber panted slightly, as gracefully as a bird possibly could, and spread her wings out to stretch them. "That was a close one." She laughed. Amber always loved the thrill of a chase. "What's your name?" She turned to the other bird curiously before looking around to see where she was. This wasn't the same side of the forest she came in on.

Oliver dove towards the ground slapping his wings into a fan, clumsily stumbling into the ground. "I'm-pant pant-Oliver-pant. It's nice-pant pant-to meet-pant-you." He finished. He hasn't worked that hard for a long time. He sprawled himself on the rock and stared at the sky, catching his breath. "Too close."

"Don't tell me your out of breath?!" Amber grinned. "And your right that was close. But now the only thing strange and dangerous is the fact that this isn't the side I came in on. What about you?" Amber fluffed her feathers and raised a wing to gesture to the skies. This looked like the mountain path but the sun was behind them instead of in front.

"It seems so." Oliver pushed himself up and back into his twig like feet. "I just haven't been in a situation like that in a long time. I suppose I'm a little rusty." He shook out his wings and stretched his neck.

Well I'm just gonna follow this path. Do you want to go with me? There's bound to be a Village nearby." Amber spread her wings and held them at the ready waiting for him to answer.
