"You're right," he said opening one eye, "I am nice." He smirked and sat, and listened...

Mia slowly lowered herself so that she was sitting on the penguin. "I never caught you name." She told him watching the waves lap around his body. She was enjoying her little ride on the living raft.

"Oh, I'm Guin, what's yours bluebird?" He paddled in the clear turquoise water.

"Guin?" Mia tried out the name. It seemed suiting for the aquatic bird. "I'm Mirajane." The gray feathers on top of her head raised in interest at a floating piece of seaweed but lowered again when it yielded no surprises. "But most call me Mia. It's easier to say I guess." Mia fluffed her wings and settled down again. "So I'm assuming that you live in the reef somewhere?"

"It's nice to meet you to." Mia chirped back. She closed her eyes as they drifted. The salty tang of the ocean water was in her nose and throat. Mia clacked her beak a few times to rid the flavor. The wind brew sea spray over them and Mia's feathers were growing damp. She took off again from her makeshift raft and flew up a few feet to dry them out.

As she flew, Guin was washed up into a sandbar, where he snuggled into the warm sand.

Mia dipped and dived over Guin. She was using her tricks to dry. Her blue feathers losing their damp feel and returning to normal. She chirped a song happily. "What are you doing out here by yourself?" She asked watching him burrow down into the pale sand. He didn't seem like the bird for sitting around without friends.

The penguin watched her do aerial tricks and realized he used that move in the water! He smiled. "Hmm, my family lived around here but I don't know where they are, no bird has found me but you.." He chirruped.

"Well I'm glad I did. No one should be lonely." Mia grinned. She flew down close to the sandbar to see how deep it was. If it wasn't too bad she could stand in it. But her search proved in vain. The water was too deep to be in without compromising her dry wings. She couldn't fly if ger feathers were soaked.

"You have that right Mia!" He stood up and slid down the other side of the sand hill. He reached the water and squawked. "Care to join me on land?!" He slid into the water, making his way to the shore. -exit Guin-
