Cirus flapped to the slick ground, and scoped the darkness with squinting eyes. The boulder that had almost squashed Rinzi was lodged in place. Now the birds couldn't fit out unless they were the size of a chickadee.
(R u thinking what I'm thinking? Underground maze time!)

"See!" Cirus threw up his wings in exasperation, "I did jinx us!" The gyrfalcon squawked in frustration. His cry echoed much more than he expected. He fell silent and scrutinized the darkness beyond. There! A faint glimmer. A-A-A glow worm?

Rinzi noticed the worm at the same time as Cirus. She flapped towards it. "Hey, there's a tunnel here! It's filled with glow worms!"

"There's one here as well!" The alabaster falcon perched on a ledge next to another opening. "Just dont eat them!" Cirus warned, the atmosphere becoming more friendly by the second as hus eyes adjusted.

Cirus shrugged, "which one is brighter?" He chirruped like a songbird.

"I think this one is," she answered after comparing the two tunnels and gesturing to the one she had discovered, "The ceiling is completely covered by the worms."

Cirus politely gestured into the glowing green depths, "then by all means, ladies first." He was talking a lot more often now, he felt comfortable and at ease with his friend. He actually had a friend! Cirus was astonished by this revaluation.

Rinzi ducked her head in a slight imitation of a curtsy. She laughed and flew into the tunnel.

Cirus flapped gracefully behind his friend and occasionally tossed a glowering at her. The danger of this place almost slipped his mind, but he was reminded of it when a boulder rolled to block the entrance behind them.

Rinzi squawked and avoid the worm. She laughed a laugh that was cut short by the boulder. "No, going back..." she murmured as if to force herself to keep going forward.

Rinzi stopped short as she came to another intersection. "Which way?" She pondered aloud and compared the two tunnels and their glow worms.
